September of 2008 marks the 20th Annual
Roundup for Autism “Roundup”, benefiting the Autism Treatment Centers
of Texas (ATC). Bobby Norris founded Roundup in honor of his daughter
who has autism and designed it to raise funds for the Autism Treatment
Centers. Bobby and his wife, JJ, continued to involve their family,
friends and connections in the rodeo/horse worlds and other resources to
ensure the success and growth of Roundup. His generous heart and philanthropic spirit prompted him to start the Roundup, which was a one day cutting and roping event in 1988 at his ranch in Burleson, Texas. Today, Roundup is one of Texas’ largest fundraisers for autism which spans across the Metroplex as a three day event. Roundup consists of a Parade at the Fort Worth Historical Stockyards, Golf Tournament at the Cowboys Golf Club, Rodeo/Celebrity Cutting at the Mesquite Resistol Arena and a black tie gala “Pegasus Ball” at the Fairmont Hotel-Dallas. Born and raised on a large ranch in Colorado Springs, Bobby brought his equine operation to Texas in 1982, where he trains cutting horses at his ranch in Burleson, Texas. Currently, he serves as a Board Member for the
Roundup for Autism and the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas. Past
affiliations include: past president, Rocky Mountain Quarter Horse Youth
Assn; past president, American Junior Quarter Horse Assn.; past
president American Cutting Horse Assn. (three times); Board Member, National Cutting Horse Assn.; member of the National Cattle Raisers Assn. and has won several World Championships in the equine world. On behalf of the children and adults served by the Autism Treatment Centers of Texas, thank you Bobby for 20 years of dedication and support!
